An hour’s drive south of Calgary lies the peaceful and quiet town of Nanton. With a population of 2,132 and an economy built primarily on agriculture, the town offers an escape from bigger city living while keeping an eye toward future development.
Nanton was named after Augustus Nanton, one of the principal investors of Western Canada and former president of Dominion Bank (now Toronto-Dominion or TD Bank).
